Espérance TV InterAmérique continues broadcasting the gospel to French-speaking territories.
Seventh-day Adventists in the Adventist Church’s French Antilles-Guiana Union Conference territory recently celebrated 10 years of carrying the message of the gospel through its Espérance TV Interamérique channel during a special ceremony. The French-language channel is one of three television channels under Hope Channel Inter-America operated by the Inter-American Division.
Thousands gathered at Mount Sinai Adventist church in François, Martinique, on June 15 for a prayer and worship ceremony hailing the milestone.
“Today we have grown together in faith by the grace of God in this mission of spreading the values of Jesus and in particular of spreading the challenging message of the three angels of Revelation 14,” Eddy-Michel Carpin, president of the French Antilles-Guiana Union, said. “Espérance TV has touched many lives in Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and elsewhere in the French-speaking world.” The world today needs certainty found in the promise made by our Lord Jesus, he added.
Carpin challenged the channel’s leaders and production staff to rededicate their efforts and urged renewed commitment in expanding to more programs that can move viewers to a better life on earth and for eternal life.
Stationed in Martinique, on the premises of the French Antilles-Guiana Union in Forte-de-France, Espérance TV InterAmérique runs programming twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, featuring topics on health, education, family, children, and youth, as well as seminars and more.
Espérance TV has been marked by challenges, victories, and constant growth, Claudine Ténitri, director of Espérance TV InterAmérique, said.
Ténitri thanked church administrators and leaders who were instrumental in establishing the channel in 2014 and have helped it become what it is today.
“It is impossible to speak about our journey without acknowledging the divine intervention that has guided each step on our way,” she said. “From day one, God has been our compass, our source of inspiration. It is through His wisdom that the vision of Espérance TV was shaped, and it is through His mercy that we were able to overcome the obstacles, transforming each difficulty into growth and renewal opportunities.”
In thanking past and present administrators, production staff and volunteers, Ténitri said, “Your unconditional support, your generosity when it comes to time and talents as well as your constant prayers have been essential to our mission.” She thanked them for their spirit of community and selfless service, allowing Espérance TV to radiate well beyond initial expectations. “Your hard work, often in the shadow, and your creativity have been the engine behind our broad reach,” she said. “Each program, each nugget broadcasted bears the mark of commitment and excellence.”
Ténitri thanked viewers for being the beating heart of the channel. “Your faithfulness, your encouraging feedback and your constant viewing motivate us to go beyond ourselves each day. You are our partners in this mission to broadcast hope and biblical knowledge in each televised program.” She continued encouraging leaders and members to partner in building more than a television station.
“We have created a space for sharing, for reflection, and where the divine light sheds light on each program and each intervention,” Ténitri said.
Hope Channel Inter-America’s executive director, Abel Márquez, praised the dedicated work of growing the French channel as a beacon of hope to the world. “We celebrate with you these 10 years of growth and more so celebrate what this accomplishment means in your efforts to fulfill the mission in sharing hope,” Márquez said. “As part of the Hope Channel Inter-America Network, we look to the future with the assurance that your efforts will continue being a blessing to thousands of people in our French-speaking territory and beyond.”
Espérance TV InterAmérique is transmitted through espérancetv.org and a dedicated YouTube Channel with more than 10,000 subscribers, as well as being distributed on Hope Channel Inter-America and digital platforms such as Roku and others. The channel shares content programming from Canada and France through a special agreement with Hope Channel International.
