A special program aired across the country commemorated two decades of sharing hope.
Nuevo Tiempo Paraguay Radio, a Seventh-day Adventist radio ministry, recently celebrated 20 years of sharing hope. Celebrations included a caravan to inaugurate new radio towers in the Paraguayan cities of Saltos del Guairá and Pedro Juan Caballero, in addition to a reopening in Yguazú.
From November 26 to 28, the Nuevo Tiempo team in Paraguay traveled through these cities, along with international guests, sharing a biblical message as part of a special program that led 11 people to baptism.
Joel Flores, evangelist of Nuevo Tiempo and host of the program Hablar con Dios (“Speaking with God”), and Tomas Parra, director of Radio Nuevo Tiempo in the Adventist Church’s South American Division, arrived from Brazil to participate in the inaugurations and preach as part of the celebrations. They were accompanied by Benjamin Belmonte, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Paraguay, and by the international singer Danny Pires.
Special guests stressed the importance of working together to fulfill the mission.
“This week has been very special,” Parra said. “In every place we went, everyone welcomed us and shared the joy of having a radio station that talks about spiritual issues, broadcast a different type of music, and is ready to share hope when people feel discouraged.” He added, “All these achievements were made possible thanks to donations and the [support of the] Adventist Church, which allows us to move forward and reach more hearts through God’s Word.”
A Special Celebration
The highlight of the celebration took place on November 30. That day, more than 500 radio listeners gathered at the Nobile Excelsior Hotel in Asunción to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nuevo Tiempo in Paraguay, along with their favorite announcers and preachers.
“How beautiful it is to return to a warm land, where people express their care, their love, but above all, where God continues to work in the heart of each listener.… I thank God for showing us how Nuevo Tiempo Radio has an important place in people’s hearts and the network’s impact.”
Participation in the Nuevo Tiempo Bible School
The Nuevo Tiempo Bible School, a department connected to the radio ministry, which encourages people to sign up for free Bible studies through printed and virtual guides, celebrated the graduation of students who completed a course on the biblical prophet Daniel. Several of those students surrendered their lives to Christ during the celebration.
“I want to invite all our listeners to remain steadfast in the Lord, because Jesus is coming soon,” Samuel Arce, Nuevo Tiempo Radio director in Paraguay, told church members and supporters of the ministry. “Through your commitment to the radio, many more people will learn about this great news.”
