Adventist school program is first of 37 across the country for third consecutive year.
The undergraduate nursing course at Avondale is still number one in Australia, as ranked by the people who matter — the students.
The latest and only comprehensive national survey of higher education students ranks the Avondale Bachelor of Nursing degree top across all focus areas — skills development, learner engagement, teaching quality, student support, learning resources, and quality of the educational experience. This is the best result of the 37 universities and higher education providers offering the course. And this is the third consecutive year that nursing at Avondale has been top across all areas.
Vice-chancellor Kerri-Lee Krause thanked students for their feedback and congratulated staff members in the School of Nursing and Health for their “top performance at the highest level.” Head of school Tamera Gosling said the rankings are a “fantastic outcome” that reflect “the fine work and dedication” of her team.
That “fine work and dedication” includes “personal commitment to providing a high-quality degree focused on meeting quality and safety standards in practice, dedication to providing a holistic learning experience for students, and facilitating excellent nursing simulation teaching and clinical experiences.”
Almost half the undergraduate students enrolled at Avondale in September this past year—including at least 192 Bachelor of Nursing students — completed the 2022 Student Experience Survey, well above the national average response rate of 37 percent.
The Student Experience Survey helps higher education institutions and the government improve teaching and learning outcomes for students. It is part of the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching survey program and funded by the Australian government’s Department of Education.
