Move highlights unwavering commitment to mission, regional leaders said.
Hope Channel Central Philippines (HCCP) marked a significant milestone in its broadcasting history on February 7 as it celebrated Hope Channel TV 25’s switchover to digital transmission at the Hope Channel transmitter site in Babag 1, Cebu City, Philippines.
This transition highlighted HCCP’s unwavering commitment to innovation and enhanced broadcast quality in delivering and sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the good news of His soon coming to all people through Bible-based television programs, regional Adventist media leaders said.
Hope Channel’s digital transmission site in the Central Philippines is the country’s second digital facility and holds the promise of extending its outreach to communities throughout the greater Cebu area. HCCP, in collaboration with Sundance Communication Networks, Inc., has spearheaded this initiative, ensuring a robust broadcast capability of 3.5 kilowatts. This transmission will encompass nearby cities such as Talisay, Mandaue, Mactan, and neighboring islands, with an anticipated audience exceeding 900,000 individuals in this culturally vibrant metropolis.
Hope Channel Philippines stands out as one of the pioneering TV networks that transitioned to digital terrestrial television capability in 2015 ahead of the Philippine government’s announcement of a full national migration to digital broadcast.
Administrators and directors from the Central Philippine Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (CPUC), representatives from the Hope Channel Central Philippines board and staff, and Rafael Basilio Apolinario IV, president of Sundance Communication Networks, Inc., participated in the launch event. CPUC president Eliezer “Joer” T. Barlizo Jr. expressed profound gratitude for the realization of this long-awaited digital transition, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of past administrators and partners.
“We truly praise God for this blessing to the Central Philippine Union Conference territory,” Barlizo said. “Our viewers can now access our programs through Hope Channel TV25.1. We are deeply grateful for your support and prayers as we utilize this media ministry to reach hearts across our territory.”
CPUC communication director Bernie C. Maniego said he was excited for the transition and extended appreciation to supporters for their unwavering backing. Emphasizing the importance of embracing new technologies, he underscored the channel’s commitment to spreading the message of salvation.
“We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter in our broadcasting journey. Let us continue to pray and support Hope Channel Central Philippines as we dedicate ourselves to producing impactful programs through this digital platform,” Maniego said.
HCCP manager Lemmuel V. Lauron highlighted the significance of digital broadcasting in reaching individuals and preparing them for the coming of the Lord. “The digital transmitter is a powerful tool to deliver the good news about God’s kingdom to every home, gadget, and heart,” he emphasized.
Hope Channel Philippines president Joel L. Sarmiento praised the leaders of Central Philippines for their steadfast dedication to evangelism through the media. He highlighted their investments in infrastructure and technology as concrete manifestations of their unwavering commitment to propagating the gospel. “As we move forward into this new era, let us remember Jesus’ promise to draw all men to Himself. May God continue to bless Hope Channel Central Philippines,” Sarmiento said.
