Texas Health Mansfield adapts to continue providing top-notch, safe care.
Since opening in December 2020, Texas Health Hospital Mansfield in Mansfield, Texas, United States, has been faced with many challenges: the COVID-19 pandemic, an unexpected surge of patients, and the historic winter storm.
All of this has only made the hospital’s team stronger, according to the health-care institution’s leaders. They believe everyone has risen to the occasion without hesitation. From the start, the hospital personnel has teamed up to care for each other and their patients like family.
When the snow came down, the hospital team stepped up. In response to the February 14-15, 2021, weather events, Texas Health Mansfield’s executive team converted sections of the Professional Office Building into warming stations and recharge zones for team members, their families, and even their pets. Additionally, an entire wing of the hospital has been devoted to clinical staff as sleeping quarters so they can continue to safely care for patients.
Keeping everyone safe is a family affair — literally. The facilities, security, and engineering teams are working countless hours to make sure patients and team members are safe. Even their family members have stepped in to help clear the roadways.
Moreover, president and CEO Kenneth Rose is personally picking up team members from their homes and driving them to the hospital for their shifts. “It’s servant leadership at its finest,” team member Brooke Roach said.
The historic, Texas-sized snowstorm left many without power, water, and warmth, but the Texas Health Mansfield team came together to weather the storm.

“Providing preeminent, compassionate, whole-person care is our main goal,” Rose said. “But we are also laser-focused on being a great partner and positively impacting the lives of our patients and community members outside the walls of the hospital. That is what our mission calls us to do: to be a beacon of light for those around us.”
